Greg has been training at CFW for a while now. He started with us at one point and had to lay out for a while after hurting his knee while running (on his own at home on ice). Anyway, he healed up and came back. For the last little bit he has rowed instead of running (if it’s a running WOD) to save the impact on his knee. But everything else he has done- squat, burpee, clean & jerk, deadlift…everything. Last Thursday he even rucked with 50# weights.
Greg could’ve let the knee set him back. It would’ve been a legit excuse…”I can’t do that, my knee is _______.” But the fact of the matter is, he didn’t. He got it to the point of being able to use it again and he has been doing just that ever since.
Greg Glassman (the founder of CrossFit) has said that the “magic is in the movement.” I’d agree. Move your body. Do what you can and I promise promise promise it will get better. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But little by little you will see improvement. And isn’t that why we’re all here? To get better? I say – yes. Yes, it is.
